Frankfurt, Germany, is the hosting city of the world’s largest book fair. In October 2023, 4000 publishers from 95 countries were displaying their latest publications to 180,000 visitors. Boris Baifa, the director, and John Parson, the consultant and methodologist of “World of Language” company, have participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair. The main purpose of the visit was to identify new products and publishers to help with the great task of helping the Mongolian people (of all ages) to learn English.
First of all, we met with the representatives of Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Oxford University Press and Express Publishing, the existing long-term partners of “World of Language” company, and exchanged information and signed an agreement. In addition, we discussed cooperation plans for 2023/4, and took a closer look at newly published books, textbooks, and learning materials based on modern technology.
Reading unabridged, modern fiction in English is an excellent way to experience the culture of contemporary English-speaking nations. With this in mind we decided to visit three mighty, globally famous fiction publishers. These were HarperCollins, Penguin Random House and Pan Macmillan. As a result, we are pleased to report that a broad selection of best-selling fiction from these publishers is now available in Mongolia through “World of Language” company.
Afterwards we met the representatives of publishers of English Language Training materials, which are Hodder Education, The English Language Institute (ELI), Global ELT and the Educational Division of HarperCollins. A representative from the publishing company mentioned that a lot of research into print size and even paper color that help different types of learners had been done. The books, textbooks and learning materials from above-mentioned publishing companies are, now, available in our book stores.
